Originally from Braintree, MA, a small suburb outside of Boston, I grew up a passionate fan of Boston sports, with a particular love for hockey and baseball. My dedication to the game began early, and I played four years of varsity baseball, excelling as both a shortstop and a pitcher.
During my high school career, I earned back-to-back Massachusetts State Player of the Year honors in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, I was also named ESPN Boston's "Mr. Baseball" and Bay State Player of the Year. My team and I celebrated state championships in both 2015 and 2016, with key victories on the mound.
After high school, I continued my baseball journey in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, playing for the Bristol Blues and Brockton Rox. In 2019, I ranked in the top three for ERA with Brockton and received the prestigious Commissioner's Award.
My collegiate baseball career took me to Broward College and later to Northwestern Oklahoma State, where I further honed my skills and deepened my love for the game.
Now, I am eager to give back to the community by mentoring young athletes, sharing my experiences, and helping them grow both on and off the field.
Colton Loyd, a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, was seven years old when he first started playing competitive travel ball. At this early introduction to baseball, Colton’s love for the game grew as he did. Playing catcher, he gained experience and honed his skills as he attended baseball camps multiple years, throughout elementary and middle school.
Colton spent his junior and senior high school years playing middle infield and pitching. In his junior year, he played an Arizona League Tournament and was awarded Player of the Game and Most Outstanding. The following spring season, he was invited to the Top 100 Prospects of Oklahoma as a Versatile Player. Colton’s list of experiences as catcher, middle infielder, and even umpiring for 6+ years has helped shape his versatility factor in the game.
After committing to Pratt Community College, Colton fell short to an unexpected arm injury. He was able to transition to coaching others and offering lessons with as much fervor as if he was on the field himself. Grateful to share his passion for the game through coaching, Colton is excited to help players improve not only the physical aspect, but also their mental game when it comes to greater sports performance. From fine tuning catching techniques to strategizing infield moves, Colton is ready to assist players at any level in their baseball journey.
